Winter Safety

Author: Dorsey Velasquez

During the cold winter months it is imperative to keep a few things in mind while braving the harsh weather conditions that are likely to occur with the months.

Winter storms can and will happen at the blink of an eye, and you should always be prepared for them by keeping a winter safety kit on hand. You should have a list of emergency numbers, and make plans to head to the local grocery so you can stock the pantry before the storm comes. You should also have a safe place in mind that you can go in case the weather becomes to severe. A survival kit is also a necessity during the winter. All of the items you need for a survival kit can be found at your local discount store. Before you leave to get the items, be sure to set your home security alarm (systems Home Security) as thieves are still in full force as cold weather strikes.

Some items to have on hand for a winter safety kit can include a flashlight, cell phone for emergencies, blankets, and foods that can easily be prepared. You might even consider keeping a kit inside of your car in case you are stranded in the cold from a car breakdown or other mishap.
