I wanted to give the living room a much needed new look.  I began by covering up the hideous border surrounding the room.  Using some durabond I smoothed over top the border.  I had tried removing the border, but someone previously must of super glued it on.  We are going to go with a two tone look here the pictures show the current progress.

The only thing this room now requires is new carpet.  That will come after Christmas.

I have spent enough days staring at this hideous border in the kitchen.  Today it annoyed me for the last time.  I took some photo's of it being removed and will update this post with finished photo's as the job progresses.  Enjoy!

Next Step
Now that the hideous border is removed I used drywall compound and smoothed out the gouges in the wall.  These pictures are of a first coat.
Kitchen with everything primed.

We went with a bone color and later I will be putting up a back splash to cover between counters and cabinets.

Product I used to help take off the border was DIF.

The homeowner removed the wallpaper and asked me to come in and fix his walls.  This is the beginning stage of preparing the walls for paint.
My partner and I are meticulous about keeping homes in the same condition as when we arrived.
This photo illustrates the amount of compound these walls require after wallpaper removal.
Stay Tuned.

NEXT DAY
This photo illustrates the finished product. The walls are now ready for prime after a day of skimming and sanding.

These walls were in horrible shape, but anything is possible. The walls ended up needing four coats of compound to ensure a smooth surface.
The job is complete. I've cleaned up, packed up tools and I'm on to the next one.
Stay tuned

For wallpaper removal, DIF works great!
