Next Step
Now that the hideous border is removed I used drywall compound and smoothed out the gouges in the wall. These pictures are of a first coat.
Kitchen with everything primed.
Finished Photo's
We went with a bone color and later I will be putting up a back splash to cover between counters and cabinets.
Product I used to help take off the border was DIF.
Oh wow, looks so much better. I'm sure you were so happy to see all that border off!
ReplyDeleteSometimes border seems harder to remove than entire walls of wallpaper. I like your changes. It was worth the hard work.
ReplyDeleteIt looks so much better! Plus it makes the decor on the cabinets pop - well done!
ReplyDeleteLove the change!

it's amazing how much brighter and "younger" it looks. i want to paint my kitchen a similar color when we redo it. it's a great celery-ish green now, but it's a dark space and i think it needs to be lightened up. great job on yours!
ReplyDeletewhat a difference just that made! makes it easier to live with until you do the next step! Lots of work though but worth it:)
ReplyDeleteWow! it looks so much better. I love the colour you chose...
